Where the plain meets the hills
Macclesfield sits at an unusual meeting point: polished Cheshire villages on one side, open moorland on the other. It gives couples a genuine choice of backdrop — a formal garden or a gate on a hillside — and both suit a car of this age far better than a modern saloon.
Our Asquith is a restored 1930s classic in Frozen White, with cream leather, a tall grille and sweeping wings. It carries up to five thanks to drop-down seats, and it is the only car we run, so the day you book is the day it is reserved for. We never double up.
Journeys here are longer than in our home towns, which we say plainly: we come over from Staffordshire and price the mileage honestly rather than hiding it. What you are quoted is what you pay.

Three practical things that shape how we plan a Macclesfield wedding.
Hill starts and gradients
Bollington, Rainow and the lanes rising towards the Peak District are steep in places. A vintage car climbs them happily, but not quickly — we quote realistic journey times rather than promising a ten-minute run that would need to be driven hard.
Prestbury and Alderley Edge village
Both have narrow main streets and restricted waiting. We agree a drop-off point with the venue in advance and park considerately nearby, so the car reappears exactly when your photographer wants it.
Weather on the tops
It can be clear in Macclesfield and grey above Rainow within a few miles. We carry large umbrellas as standard, and the Asquith is fully enclosed, warm and dry between door and doorway.
Inside the car
The rear bench is generous enough for a full skirt, and the door aperture is high, which is the practical reason so many brides choose a period car. Getting out is unhurried and the dress stays as it should.
